I want to thank our partners at the Young Americans foundation for helping us with this together. For those of you who are new to the institute and new to politics, we are here on campus founded about 7. 5 years ago to do two things. Pull back the curtain on washington a little bit for all of you. Show you the good, bad and ugly how the system works by putting on the same people who run it. Number two, if you believe as i do that one of the Biggest Challenges is our democracy today and hyper polarization. We want to put people from different perspectives together to have the hard conversations. Sometimes to find Common Ground, oftentimes not but at least find common motivation to see if we can have a better understanding of the different positions before we step out onto the field ourselves.
