Unions stopped for the entire first shift to honor juneteenth and what the day means for this nation and its people. But they took to the street. They started excuse me, they started at the port there in oakland ending at city hall to raise awareness about issues still plaguing the black community including Police Violence and systemic racism. Those who came out tell me today is really a long time coming. Weve been doing this since i was a kid. In San Francisco they had a big old park, we had rides. And then in the 90s it started dying down with the gang violence. Then they made it just one block. And, i mean, my friends and family are already celebrated. Why is this not celebrated more .
