Mumbai: In an exclusive interview with The Free Press Journal, Dr Shashank Joshi, member of the state s Covid-19 task force explains the vaccination process and speaks about its safety in the wake of the DCGIâs restrictive emergency use approval. Incidentally, Dr Joshi is also a member of the state-level coordination committee led by the Chief Secretary for the vaccination process.

After successfully concluding the Coronavirus vaccination dry run in four states, a similar mega-drill will be conducted in all states and union territories on January 2.
This is aimed at equipping the entire administration and management of vaccine supply, storage and logistics, including cold chain management, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

The Subject Expert Committee of the Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is set to meet anytime Wednesday to consider the application of Serum Institute of India s for emergency use authorization of its Covid-19 vaccine, a senior government official said. 51 lakh people to get coronavirus vaccine in first phase, says Kejriwal

Kejriwal said Delhi has about 3 lakh healthcare workers, 6 lakh frontline workers, and about 42 lakh people who are aged above 50 years or have co-morbidities. “We have identified nearly all of them and the identification work will be wrapped up in a week,” he said.
Fifty-one lakh people in Delhi comprising healthcare staff, frontline workers, people with co-morbidities and those aged above 50 years will be administered Covid-19 vaccine in the first phase, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday.
