we re not going to negotiate on that. yeah, i think that s inconsistent with what the american people want. house republicans have been saying for day that say we recognize there s disagreements and we need to come to the negotiating table. the president has said that he won t negotiate on the debt ceiling and he won t negotiate on the budget until he gets his way. frankly, i think that the american people are starting to understand why we re in a shutdown. but isn t that more an answer of what part of republicans and the answer of no is not being understood here? because there is a negotiated budget at sequester level spending. the problem is that there s a hitch with obama care being linked in to the shutdown conversation. that gets taken out and a clean cr goes to the floor, everybody, all the people i ve talked to, they say that would pass. well, remember, that the house has voted for nine bills in recent days that would fund everything from food stamps to our national parks
they think they re going to push him to some kind of capitulation there. even if he does, it s going to get to the white house and it s going to be there. it s amazing. if the end game is the medical device tax being repealed, the idea we had to shut down the federal government and flirt with the default to get rid of a medical device extra tax. it seems absurd. i guess that in a way they have a victory. they have their funding levels attached to this bill and i was talking to republicans this week who are, they re not exactly moderate, but they re institutionalists. they have been there a while. they say a couple years ago, this would have been huge. the victory is there in that this whole sequester level spending. the democrats take, a lot of republicans have embraced and learned to love. is there an out for republicans to say, hey, you know what, we got sequester level spending. that s our victory. does that exist? that s a tough sell. i talk to a lot of conservative was s
