MPD Sensitive Crimes Division to give out 50 crafty to-go bags for Denim Day

MILWAUKEE - This year for Denim Day, Milwaukee Police Sensitive Crimes Division will have 50 crafty to-go bags for members of the community that are interested in decorating a piece of denim for support of Denim Day.
Denim Day is a campaign in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Denim Day is on Wednesday, April 28.
The crafty bags will be available for pick on Tuesday, April 27 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 28 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Jane Doe wasn’t the type who forgot to pick up her kids.

The Milwaukee Police Department has admitted making mistakes in the sexual assault investigation of a prominent Milwaukee real estate developer and agreed to transfer the case to another law enforcement agency, according to a legal settlement filed this week.
The settlement, reached in a first-of-its-kind lawsuit, creates a path for crime victims throughout Wisconsin to ensure their rights are protected. While state law lays out those rights, the responsibility for enforcement falls to police and prosecutors. Before now, victims had little recourse if those agencies failed.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) The Stevens Point Police and Fire Commission has named two finalists for the city’s next Chief of Police, including one current member of the city’s Police force.
Robert J Kussow, the current interim assistant Chief, will be considered for the job alongside Brent Plisch, who currently serves as the Assistant Chief for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department.
Kussow has spent his entire law enforcement career with the Stevens Point Police Department and has held various positions including School Resource Officer, Detective Lieutenant, and Sensitive Crimes Investigator. His resume also includes continuing education from the Leadership in Police Organizations program and he will be attending the Wisconsin Command College this fall.
