Dr Chidia is an Asaga Ohafia born erudite medical practitioner, politician, public officer, creative economist and a public affairs analyst.
He had his primary and secondary education at St. Thomas Anglican Primary School, Umuoso Nsulu and Sacred Heart Secondary School, Aba respectively. After he obtained his O-level General Certificate of Education (GCE) at the Birch Freeman High School, Lagos in 1973 then proceeded to Kwara College of Technology where he obtained his Cambridge A –Level in 1975. With his brilliant academic performance that year, all existing Nigerian university colleges of medicine at that time offered him admission to study medicine, while he finally settled to study medicine at University of Ibadan Medical School, UCH .

GUWAHATI: Amid the gradual increase in COVID-19 cases and in order to bring into control the pandemic the Assam government has issued new guidelines to be followed by restaurants/bars/banquet halls and other eateries.

Protocol for Vulnerable Groups: Persons above 65 years of age, persons with comorbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years are advised to take necessary precautions in terms of maintaining physical distancing, wearing masks properly, etc. Restaurant management to advise accordingly.

Mr John Medugu, Chairman, Adamawa State Local Government Pension Board, on Friday said that the board has begun the payment of outstanding gratuity to over 6,300 Local Government retirees.
Medugu who made the disclosure to journalists in Yola, said that the State and Local Government Councils jointly contribute N14 million monthly for the payments.
He explained that the amount being contributed monthly for settlement of the retirees’ gratuity would also help to cushion the hardship occasioned by COVID-19.
” So far, Government has settled the gratuity of about 6,300 local government retirees.
“And on monthly basis, State and Local Government’s Councils are contributing about N14 million for the payment of the gratuity.
