Now, Governor Newsom announced today that labs across the state are beginning to catch up with the enormous backlog of unprocessed covid19 tests. Spoke to the lead of a new testing task force. That the testing space has been a challenging one for us, and i own that, and i have a responsibility as your governor to do better. Governor gavin newsom confirmed over 126,000 people have been tested. And 13,000 of those are still awaiting results. Staggering numbers that led to this announcement. A state partnership with two california universities and a task force. A new partnership with uc davis and uc san diego to create a minimum of 5 to 7 hubs. Markovich wants to make sure anyone in need of a test gets one. Set a goal to get to 10,000 per day for the next two weeks to 25,000 per day by the end of the month, and by the end of the summer this august the capacity of 50,000.
