Vote on the altered senate bill or vote on an amendment from House Speaker boehner that could come with more conservative sweeteners. If that amendment happens, a shutdown looks a lot more likely. No interest in seeing the government shutdown, but weve got to address the spending problems that we have in this town. President obama is already drawing a line in the sand. Heres what he said at a speech touting the Health Care Law yesterday. I will not negotiate on anything when it comes the full faith and credit of the United States of america. October 1st, thats the deadline for washington to figure all of this out. With the white house pitted against congress, the senate pitted against the house and republicans pitted against republicans, is an 11th hour deal to avert a shutdown looking less and less possible by the minute . How do you begin to unwind this . We only have a few days now before the government shutdown. I dont know what the white house can do. How does the president negoti
That it will be done and its not done, thats not doing your job. Put it up, vote yes or new york move on. This is like the people we have down the hall with the Senate Democrats who dont want to have up or down votes on Supreme Court justices, prosecutors, all these other people because what they know is they dont have any substantive reason to oppose those people. The same way most of these folks didnt have any substantive way to oppose this. Thats the problem. Nauble [inaudible] absolutely support the leader ship. I dont believe thats what the report said. I mean, i think youve guilded that report up pretty well in the leadup to your question. I dont think thats what the report said. I think these guys made the best decisions they could in the circumstances. Once you see the yard is flooded, you can say, they would have move they shouldve moved the trains. If they had known it was going to flood, they wouldve moved the trains. He made the best decisions he could at the time. Sometime
Office. He says they were meant to be money savers while critics say hes trying to sabotage the november election. Speaking of the election, you know were talking last night. Former Vice President joe biden officially accepted his partys nomination. Heres part of what he had to say. This is our moment. This is our mission. Any government commemoration we can see, maybe not yet or theyll do something . The president is just planning mor more rallies as 200,000 people died. At the National Cathedral yesterday, they told of what they called their morning bell. It is huge, makes a huge sound. That bell weighs 12 tons. Yesterday starting at 5 00 p. M. Eastern, they rang that bell 200 times. One time for each 1,000 americans who have died so far with covid. At central park yesterday, they held a march with banners that said march for the dead, fight like hell for the living. Americans are having to make up these commemorations for ourselves. However we can and however we do among ourselves and our civic groups and family groups and local groups. I mean 200,000 of us dead. More dead than any in the country. The government is not taking notice, maybe hoping to not make too big of a
