CSPAN2 Senate Party Leaders Weekly News Conferences July 13, 2024

American people. I hope that changes. The democrats running for president will debate tomorrow night and we will debate pride in proposals from them in here about 32 trilliondollar Healthcare Plan and what they will not tell you is they will take Health Insurance away from 180 million americans who get it to work. We will hear about a proposal to save the planet but they will not tell you that they will raise the cost of gasoline by ten dollars a gallon to pay for what they are proposing. You may talk about their ability to spin straw into gold but the reality of it is that they dont have a way to pay for all the promises they continue to make. The democrats cannot beat donald trump with their positions and these dangerous democrats socialist positions that they are promoting and they are promoting this partisan impeachment and they been going on that the voting is for president in less than a year and voting is starting in iowa and in New Hampshire and nancy pelosi in the house is obs

CSPAN3 South Dakota Capitol October 8, 2017

i ¿ we are at the south dakota State Capitol in pierre where cspan is learning more about the history of the city. The building is an example of renaissance architecture. Up next, we take you inside for a tour and to learn why pierre was chosen as the state capital. Mr. Venhuizen pierre is a pretty small town as far as capitals go. Fort pierre is another 2500 people. Not only is it small, but it is pretty remote. It was selected as the state capital because it is in the middle of the state. It is really a two or two and a half hour drive from any other major town. That presents challenges. People have to drive quite a istance. The state is by far the largest employer and it really ominates the economy here. When dakota territory was created in 1862, the original territorial capital was in yankton, in the far east corner of the territory. The territory was both north and south dakota. As the territory was settled, three distinct territories emerged. There was yankton near sioux falls.
