The Shiv Sena factions led by Thackeray and Shinde were barred from using the party name and election symbol bow and arrow in the November 3 Andheri East Assembly bypoll earlier this month.
Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday wrote to the Election Commission raising objections to its recent decisions concerning the two factions ahead of next month s bypoll in East Andheri seat.
The Election Commission today announced that it has allotted “two swords and a shield” poll symbol to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led faction of the Shiv Sena, which has so far been named the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena.
