Left fielder Elijah Cabell was re-inserted into the Florida State lineup Saturday vs. Wake Forest and has hit a home run in each of the three games in that span. His two-run home run Wednesday vs. Mercer gave FSU a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning. The Noles went on to score eight runs in the frame and beat the Bears for the 26
th consecutive time.
On the mound, Jack Anderson retired the first 20 batters of the game and had a career high 6.2 innings pitched and six strikeouts. FSU allowed just one run on three hits to the Bears.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Robby Martin hit two home runs and had five RBI and freshman pitcher Carson Montgomery struck out nine batters in 4.2 innings, leading Florida State (7-6) past No. 5 Florida (13-5) 10-2 Tuesday night at Dick Howser Stadium. Catcher Mat Nelson added his team-high fifth home run and the FSU bullpen combined to allow just one hit in 4.1 innings of relief.
The win was the second straight for FSU over a Top 5 Florida team, beating the No. 1 Gators in Gainesville 2-0 last season. It is the Seminoles first win against Florida in Tallahassee since 2015.
Montgomery made his third start of the season and looked every bit the player that was the highest-rated recruit to reach campus this summer. The Windermere native struck out nine, allowed three walks and a pair of runs, both coming in his last inning of work. He exited the game one out shy of his first win as a Seminole.
March 16, 2021 USTFCCCA Recognizes XC All-Americans
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – All-America honors for the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Three members of the Florida State cross country teams captured those accolades.
Athletes from member institutions earned All-America recognition by finishing among the top-40 athletes in their gender’s respective races on Monday at the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships
in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The women’s team finished the cross country season ranked 15th after heading into the NCAA Championships 18th. The Seminoles made their debut in the week one poll at No. 21 on Oct. 27.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 25 Florida State women’s swimming and diving team will be represented by three Seminoles at the 2021 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
“We’re just really excited to be here,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “It’s been a tough year for everyone, so were just grateful to have this opportunity. We have three first-time individual qualifiers, which is really fun. We’re looking forward to enjoying the journey this week and having fun.”
Senior Emma Terebo, sophomore Tania Quaglieri and freshman Jenny Halden will start competing on Thursday with prelims of the 50 free.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The No. 1 Florida State Men’s Golf Team is in second place through two rounds at the Valspar Collegiate held at Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.
Freshman Brett Roberts is leading the way for the Seminoles, tying for sixth thus far at 5-under. Robert shot a first-round 69 and followed with a second-round 68, which included an eagle on the par-5, 535-yard 15th hole.
The Seminoles are at 14-under overall (279-275), trailing leader SMU by three strokes.
Vincent Norrman, Frederik Kjettrup and Connor Futrell are each tied for 14th at 2-under. John Pak is tied for 24th at 1-under, while individual Cole Anderson is tied for 33rd at 3-over.
