FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY NAMES MICHAEL ALFORD AS NEW ATHLETICS DIRECTOR

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida State University President Richard McCullough announced today the selection of Michael Alford as the university’s next Vice President and Director of Athletics.   Alford, who has served as president and CEO of Seminole Boosters, Inc. since 2020, is an accomplished leader with a wealth of experience in collegiate and professional athletics and a proven track record of fundraising, hiring successful coaches and managing elite athletics programs.   “Michael Alford’s experience and passion for Florida State University make him an outstanding choice to lead the Athletics Department,” McCullough said. “Since arriving at FSU, he has made a tremendous impact and has garnered the overwhelming support of the Florida State community. Tallahassee, Fla.    The highly-acclaimed feature documentary film “The Bowden Dynasty will be available on digital HD beginning November 9th.  Virgil Films announced in October that it has acquired the distribution rights and will offer the film in various packages on platforms such as iTunes (in 52 countries), Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, along with numerous other platforms. The film, which tells the story of FSU Head Coach Bobby Bowden and the Seminoles’ incredible 14-year run of consecutive top-four seasons, features interviews with legends Bart Starr, Deion Sanders, Charlie Ward, Kenny Chesney, Burt Reynolds, Lou Holtz, Jimmy Johnson, Jim Kelly and Nick Saban.  The film goes deeper than football in exploring universal themes of faith, stewardship, humility and redemption. The 105-minute documentary will be screened free of charge for FSU students on campus on November 10th with veteran film producer John Corry attending, along with a Q&A panel after the film.
