Karachi s capacity to manage disasters reviewed

Daily Times April 2, 2021 Strategies to improve Karachi’s disaster response were discussed at a meeting at the Commissioner’s Office involving some 14 departments of the Emergency Response System and a team of Jinnah Sindh medical University’s collaborative project titled ‘Measuring Urban Capacity for Humanitarian Crisis’. Presided by the Commissioner Karachi Navid Ahmed Shaikh, the participants reviewed the research outcomes presented by JSMU’s APPNA Institute of Public Health and suggested measures like upgrading of various ambulance services in Karachi according to international standards and a formal system of accreditation of the ambulances to be introduced by the Commissioner’s office, said a statement here on Thursday. Lux Style Awards: Geo film Lal Kabutar wins the festival

Top Story January 3, 2021 KARACHI: The first ever virtual, spectacular, colorful and enchanting ceremony of 19th, Lux Style Awards was aired on Geo TV, Pakistan s most popular entertainment channel. At the Style Awards ceremony, the super hit film Lal Kabutar , a joint venture between Geo Films and Nehar Ghar Films, won the festival. It won the award for best film, actor Ahmed Ali Akbar won the award for best actor, Kamal Khan was declared the best director of the film. The film s producers Kamil Cheema and Haniya Cheema called it a success for their entire team.
