MASERU- In commemoration
of the 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Women and Youth
Empowerment programme under Bam Group Foundation (BGF) hosted a virtual meeting
to give a platform for both women and men who are directly and indirectly affected
by GBV to share their stories.
Speaking at the
interactive meeting, BAM Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) ‘Mamashiya
Ntšepeng Tšita Tikiso indicated that their focus is on women and issues that surround
them, including men to bring about equality. Tšita-Tikiso recited the
stereotypical norms of the Basotho nation that make GBV socially acceptable.

Lesotho (ETL) gave away prizes worth more than M35, 000 including a brand new
Toyota Hilux Single Cab to EcoCash agents who participated in the cash in
promotion that ran from June 2019 to March 2020.
This was revealed by the
company at the prize giving ceremony where Mpeoa Supermarket drove away with a
brand new Toyota 4×2 single cab as a grand prize. Mpeoa Supermarket exceeded
all monthly targets set in terms of cash deposit or cash-ins and the number of transactions
for the duration of the campaign and therefore was labelled an agent with the
highest percentage growth in the country.

MASERU – The Ministry of Communications Science
and Technology presented the Ministry’s Strategic Plan 2020/21 – 2022/23 that
aims to provide insights and solutions to the acceleration of innovation, productivity
and creation of jobs in the country.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of
Communications Science and Technology Hon. Thesele Maseribane said the
strategic plan intends to put in place all digital initiatives across all
sectors of the economy. Maseribane added that the digital technologies have

Enterprise Development Corporation (BEDCO), launched the 2020 Micro, Small, and
Medium Enterprises (MSMES) virtual EXPO with the usual aim of developing and
growing Basotho enterprises.
Speaking at the virtual
launch, BEDCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Idia Penane said the corporation has been
charged with a mandate to establish, develop, and grow Basotho Enterprises. She
said to better position itself towards fulfillment of this mandate, BEDCO
commenced a project funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in 2019. She
