MA woman arrested after allegedly robbing convenience store with hypodermic needle

December 14, 2020 10:29 pm , RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE)- Raynham police arrested a woman for allegedly robbing a convenience store with a hypodermic needle Monday evening. In a statement, police said 34-year-old Ashley Demers of East Wareham entered the Seasons Corner Market on New State Highway while brandishing the needle and claiming to be infected with AIDS. Demers managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash, but police were able to get her license plate and a vehicle description, police said. After putting out an alert, it was determined that the vehicle matched a description from a similar robbery in New Bedford, according to the statement.

Woman robs store with needle she claimed to be infected with AIDS, police say Peter Sblendorio A Massachusetts woman who allegedly brandished a needle that she claimed was infected with AIDS as she robbed a convenience store Monday has been arrested, according to police. Raynham Police responded to the scene at the Seasons Corner Market shortly after 6 p.m. and were told the woman left with a “quantity of cash” after robbing the store at needle-point, according to a statement from the department. After getting the suspect’s license plate information, the officers alerted local communities to be on the lookout, and State Police said the same vehicle was already wanted in connection with a similar offense.

The woman is accused of brandishing a needle she claimed was infected with AIDS and leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the statement. Someone took the license plate number of the suspect’s car and gave it to police.
