A masked man who burglarized Fayetteville homes while elderly residents slept is being sought by police in a series of break-ins.
The first two attempts were reported Dec. 11 on Offshore Drive, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
At the first home, an alarm sounded as the man, wearing knee pads, a backpack, mask, gloves and a Casio G-Shock style watch, rummaged through a vehicle where he found a house key and attempted to unlock a door.
At a second home in the area, he tried to pry open a window. The incidents, at least one of which was captured on a security camera, happened between 12:20 a.m. and 1:27 a.m.
