The wife of a missing worker from the SEACOR Power lift boat has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $25 million in damages for gross negligence and violations of federal maritime law, NBC News has confirmed.
The lawsuit was filed by Hannah Daspit, the surviving spouse of Dylan Daspit, who was on board the SEACOR Power when it capsized.
SEACOR Power is owned and operated by Houston-based SEACOR Marine and was chartered to Talos Energy at the time of the accident.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Houston against Seacor Marine, Seacor Liftboats and Talos Energy, KATC news reported. It was filed under the Jones Act.
