The Los Angeles County Fire Department is helping local emergency departments that are experiencing challenges with patient overflow and ambulance turnover by implementing the Hospital EMS Surge Assistance Plan.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to appoint Rafael Carbajal as the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.
“From helping struggling businesses and consumers during this pandemic, to protecting tenants and workers, to providing much needed services for our immigrants in Los Angeles County, strong leadership for the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs has never been more necessary,” said Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis. “Rafael Carbajal brings tenacity and experience to the Department during this pivotal moment.”
“I am humbled and honored this Board has placed such trust in my ability to execute their vision and represent the diverse communities we serve,” said Carbajal.
USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region has decided to extend the developed campground closure on 12 National Forests in California to provide consistent COVID-19 mitigation response in accordance with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Stay-at-Home Orders. These Regional Orders will be in effect through Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.
The closed campgrounds on National Forests (NF) are in California’s Greater Sacramento, Southern, and San Joaquin zones, including Angeles NF, Cleveland NF, Eldorado NF, Inyo NF, Los Padres NF, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, Plumas NF, San Bernardino NF, Sequoia NF, Sierra NF, Stanislaus NF, and the Tahoe NF. Day use of National Forests will remain open for the health and welfare of Californians. We urge all visitors to follow CDC guidelines to recreate responsibly and check with your local National Forests before visiting.
