Dalton Planning Board receives comments on proposed zoning ordinance
December 20, 2020DALTON Last week in Dalton, a public hearing took place in regards to the proposed zoning ordinance. The town has never had zoning until the threat of a landfill became imminent. Residents voted for emergency zoning as one way to stop any sort of landfill development during the summer of 2019.
On Dec. 9, the hearing resulted in an active discussion on how to move forward with zoning, with roughly 30 participants. Those in attendance relay that Planning Board Chair Carl Lindquist did a great job managing the hearing. In all, the meeting lasted roughly two hours. Noted is that only 5 percent of registered voters partook in the hearing.
