Young Mountbatten volunteers awarded by High Sheriff

From left, High Sheriff Caroline Peel, Solomon Wells, Harrison Burnett and Thea Ricketts. THREE young Mountbatten volunteers have been awarded for their work by High Sheriff Caroline Peel. Solomon Wells, 17, of Ryde, has been volunteering three hours per week with the Inpatient Unit since August 2020. He is in his first year of A Levels and is thinking about pursuing a career in medicine, and wanted an opportunity to volunteer within a clinical environment to gain more experience and skills. Staff were impressed with his communication skills with patients and with the nursing team, and described him as a team player.

The awards are being given to three Mountbatten Volunteers, who are all under 25. They are just three of 22 other outstanding winners , as previously reported by Isle of Wight Radio, the Island Riding Centre (IRC) said it was  thrilled  to announce that Angel Passmore was awarded the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight Award.
