Reporter sade, diana, one woman we saw was crying her eyes out as she was talking on the phone to someone about the fire that either heavily damaged her apartment or completely destroyed it. It did not take long for the fire that started in one house to spread causing huge damage. We got an initial call at 12 505, record structure 12 55 for a structure. We have a total of five structures burning from 175 to 179. Reporter five homes igniting, 31 people displaced. She lives in the house where the fire started. Ever since that tragedy in 2012, there have been Armed Security guards at all newtown schools. This morning sharp eyed security personnel noticed that teacher allegedly carrying concealed firearm. Happened at the middle school. 46yearold jason adams detained by security while police were called to the school. Adams produced a valid pistol permit which in connecticut is also a carry permit, however, guns are not allowed on school property. So adams was arrested. This all happened right at the start of the school day, 9 00. Adams transported to Newtown Police headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of a weapon grounds. He was released on his own recognizance. The science teacher, hes an 8th grade science teacher, is out of police custody. And hes also out of the classroom for the time being. Adams has been placed on administrative leave. Police in the district stressed that at no time was there any and parents have been notified of the incident. I understand he ha
Thursday afternoon when he says unexpectedly he was assaulted. The time to distract me and then just punched me. Reporter in video captured by the companys security camera. Two young men thought to be teenagers are seen coming together on the sidewalk walking up the folly on the fork truck. Asked me for the time which i pulled out my cell phone out of my pocket and told them the time. Reporter without warning as i started pulling away the other one reached in and just punched me in the face. Reporter he then jumps off the fork truck and wrestles one of the teenager to the ground.
