Outpouring of support from our worldclass exhibits. Our world class exhibit and programs like this are made possible by friends of the Eisenhower Foundation and other donors. I want to thank the foundation for supporting this lecture series tonight. Perhaps you are aware the Eisenhower Foundation is raising money to conduct a comprehensive exhibit renovation. It is the Largest Campaign in our foundations 73 year history and the First Comprehensive exhibit renovation in more than 45 years. The new exhibits will be unveiled this summer. We have been so encouraged by the response we have received thus far. I am pleased to report we have raised 98 of our goal. [applause] prof. Featuring the winners of our studentcam documentary competition. Middle School High School middle and High School Students completed videos answering the question what do they want the president ial candidates to address. In the midst of these challenging times, i have some exciting news. A team of talented High School Students from Long Beach Polytechnic High School are the first place winners in cspans National Documentary competition. Studentcam. Cspan partners every year with spectrum for this competition which has dunes create short documentaries about an issue of national importance. 5000 400 students from across the United States participated creating films that reflect their interests and passions. I was honored to be interviewed by the long beach High School Students for their winning film so it is and i am incredibly proud of their talent, hard work, and persistence. Privilege of welcoming the second and the third. Were extraordinarily grateful to justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor to join us to honor Sandra Day Oconnor. It turns out that Justice Ginsberg and Justice Oconnor share an unusual distinction and that is interesting nicknames. When Justice Oconnor was confirmed she earned the moniker fwotsc for first woman on the Supreme Court. Justice ginsburg has been kroub crowned the notorious rbg. Ill leave it to you to decide which one is catchier. They share a lifelong commitment to expanding opportunities for women. It makes sense when Justice Ginsburg joins Justice Oconnor on the bench in 1993, the two bonded over their historic role in transforming the Supreme Court. Both justices had to overcome discrimination and professional rejection, but Justice Oconnor once put a helpful spin on it if they had come of age when women could easily be lawyers, she told Justice Ginsburg, they would probably end up as retired partners at some law
