Ms. Bowling i am pleased to announce a special miniseries of six lectures entitled great great president ial lives. This series is particularly attractive for two main reasons. The first being its timeliness. As we face a president ial Election Year and prepare for it, it will be an insight that all of us can benefit from. The second is the speaker himself, our esteemed umw Professor Emeritus of history, william b. Crawley, who has just completed 50 years on the faculty of the university of the mary washington. During that half century, dr. Crawley has contributed in innumerable ways, in significant ways. Certainly not least of all, the creation of our renowned Historic Preservation program and the creation of this amazing great lives series. But it is for his excellence in teaching that he is perhaps best known. And certainly to literally thousands of our students who have come through our halls. It could be a very long weekend, and its already getting off to a busy start for firefighters in napa county. Thats where cheryl hurd is live tonight to begin our coverage. Reporter what youre looking at right now is a pg e base camp, an area where trucks are standing by if and when a wind event takes place. Tonight we got a preview of what could happen. Cal fire trucks lining up along the valley road in napa county after firefighters were able to stop a vegetation fire from jumping the roadway. The firefighters they got a lot of, you know, big dozers, theyre working on it really strong. Reporter working to control the fire that has salvador rios worried. We live on the same property, so hopefully, you know, it wont keep going. Reporter did you evacuate your family . Not yet. Reporter one witness tells me the fire started at around 3 00. It started out as a very small grass fire but quickly grew to over 30 acres. That acreage more than doubled tonight near the populated area of pope va

Also the Oakland Hills and communities in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It could start sunday morning and go through tuesday morning. We have Team Coverage tonight. Everything really is materializing for the wind to not only impact the mountains but whats different about this that we havent seen lately is the low elevations getting in on the wind. The large low pressure system. Its expansive. Disrupting the atmosphere. As that starts to drop down. Sunday, monday and tuesday. Its going to bring a cold blast to us.
