Families who are debating the safety of it depending on where they live. Teachers as well. On the judicial front, the president s closely guarded finances were at the center of two Supreme Court rulings today, decisions that lay down firm markers on the scope and limits of executive power, and they do force trump to extend his battle to keep that information private. The rulings came on the last day of the courts term. In one case, the justices cleared the way for the manhattan d. A. , cyrus vance, to see trumps financial documents himself, which had been subpoenaed by a grand jury as part of that investigation into the hush money payments to two women who claimed they had affairs with trump. The president has denied those allegations still. In the other case, House Democrats were blocked from getting their hands on many of the same records, including trumps tax returns. Is any guide, the lives of even more americans may be at risk. Already tonight more than 3 million americans have tested positive for coronavirus. New cases today at a daily alltime high. And this vastly outpaces any increases in testing. As of tonight, more than 132,000 americans have died. In the past few months from a virus we didnt even know anything about in january. And in much of this country, cases and deaths are still climbing. Yet today President Trump decided to slam the cdc over its scientific back to School Guidelines tweeting, quote, i disagree with cdc gov on their tough guidelines for opening schools. This country is experiencing a second nightmare, one which was arguably totally avoidable, given what our government should have learned from first nightmare. Folks, it is groundhog day in america now and it is bleak. Cases are surging. Hospitals are being pushed to their breaking points. This time hospitals in the south. States are playing catchup. Businesses are again being curbed. There isnt enough testing. And in some cases the testing it too slow to be of much use. Takes days to get the results back in places like florida and arizona now. There isnt enough personal protective equipment. The president doesnt seem to be listening to the advice of his Top Public Health experts and the death toll is projected to go up, moments ago texas reported its third day in a row of record deaths. The president tried to convince the public that the situation is not what you see, that the situation is actually getting better, but the overwhelming reality of the situation is clearly broken through,
