It’s time to crack open the books and get back to some learning. All schools in the Pulaski County School District will take part in their annual Back to School
Here s a look at this week s local happenings and announcements:
Junior Sheriff s Academy
From Monday, July 19 to July 23, the Randolph County Sheriff s Office will have its second week of the Junior Sheriff s Academy. Teenagers 13 to 15 interested in law enforcement, fire, and EMS were encouraged to register.
Captain Brian Arrington, head of the camp, said the program ran for a few years just for male students who were court-ordered. Then, under a new sheriff, the program was changed to a recruiting-style camp for teens interested in law enforcement.
The department has continued the recruiting theme throughout the changes of the office.
