Standing around the lookout area when the ground collapsed. We heard like huge, like i would say, a splash. And a lot of sand and rocks falling down. Reporter the two hikers fell 70 feet and were buried underneath the rock and dirt. Some Good Samaritans nearby helped to get them out. And marin county fire sheriff and park ranger showed up to assist in the rescue. Both people were transported by hospital, but one was pronounced dead. Just a few days ago, the National Park Service Posted these pictures along trails and parking lots and also on their website and facebook page. Huge cracks have developed along arch rock prompting the park service to warn hikers that it is very dangerous to walk along the edge of the cliffs given the current conditions. Boys, aged 7 and 5 and twin 1 yearold girls all living with their grandmother. The kids were taken by their parents from the grandmothers home in los angeles at 12 30 yesterday afternoon. Police say the couple is driving a darkcolored pt cruiser with paper plates and a missing hubcap. Its not clear where theyre headed. Heres pictures of the family.
