“I’m just a Swede from the Prairie.” Nathalie Joy Johnson passed away at her home in Minneapolis on June 24, 2022, just a day after her 58th birthday. She remained in good spirits with positive thoughts and greeted each of the healthcare persons she encountered with her beautiful smile and kind words during her short battle with cancer. Nathalie is survived by her companions animals and her husband of 28 years, Tony Parsons.
2/16/2011: Back in the day, skiing was as natural as walking for many Norwegians, and when they immigrated to North Dakota, it was logical that they brought skiing and ski-jumping with them. Among them was Casper Oimoen. He became the best ski-jumper in North Dakota in the 1920s and 1930s.

Members of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Garrison started making patriotic quilts several months ago to give to veterans as a way to honor and thank them for their service.
Last Monday, Mary Kohler, a Guild member from Benedict, presented, on behalf of the Quilt Guild, a red, white and blue quilt to John Sinn, a World War II veteran from Minot. The quilt was made by Quilt Guild member Linda Burgeson of Douglas.
