people s intolerance, and what is as disturbing to me as you did the litany of cases is they all at some point involve police involvement that overreact. because starbucks stepped up and said, we re going to do certain things. fine, but the police never explained what was the probable cause that you arrested people. why would the police drag this woman in mobile, alabama? and i went to mobile. so at one level, we can deal with the institutions, and we should, but at another level, why are the police dragging people, choking people and all, and maybe it comes from a climate where we have a president saying don t be nice to suspects, don t put their head down when you re arresting them. it s almost this signal that nothing s going to happen to you if you go overboard. when white people call the cops on black people, is that, in your mind, outright racism, or is this something?
