Ladder company 12 in north philadelphia while working his night shift. He was not killed in a fire, he was taken to Temple University hospital where he was pronounced dead. We have a crew heading to the hospital right now, well have more in a few minutes. Tonight thousands of people are without power, across our area. This oppressive heat wave sparked strong storms and downed trees and power lines from south jersey to the suburbs. There wont be relief any time soon. They were popup storms that moved quickly through the area. Just about everybody in the region felt something or saw something. Because it was quite a light show with these storms that popped. Even reports of hail in parts of new jersey. So quite interesting indeed, all is quiet for now. The storms have pushed to the southeast, right off the coast and right off of southern delaware also.
