GREENSBURG Anyone who knows a Girl Scout knows it’s time to continue a tradition that is as steeped in history as it is in divine indulgence – Girl Scout cookie time. As local Girl Scout Service Troop 702 sets up their drive-thru booth in the Greensburg Staxx parking lot, a died-in-the-wool American tradition continues with modern trappings to mitigate modern risk.
Girl Scout cookies were first peddled by an individual Girl Scout unit, the “Mistletoe Troop” in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in December 1917 at a local high school.
