Kincardine, ON, Canada / ShorelineToday.ca Mar 16, 2021 6:23 AM A forensic financial investigation of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Financial Corporation is underway after irregularities were discovered during a year-end audit. In a news release, SON FC’s accountant and auditor (BDO of Owen Sound) informed President Jonathan Araujo Redbird that the audit could not be completed due to incomplete financial reporting. Redbird has authorized an independent third-party investigation into the corporation’s financial records. Both the SON Joint Council and FC are retained the services of Zysman Forensic Accounting to be the lead in the investigation. The matter is also being investigated by Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police and the Ontario Provincial Police.
