Citing safety concerns, a lawyer on Thursday has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discontinue the MIG-21 aircraft from the Indian Air Force. This request came six days after an IAF fighter pilot was killed in MiG-21 aircraft that crashed. Advocate Satyam Singh mentioned the accident of Squadron Leader Abhinav Choudhary in his letter where he was killed when a MiG-21 Bison fighter jet he was flying crashed in Punjab s Moga district on May 21.

New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI)): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking direction to the Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police to suspend the issuance of challans by the red-light violation cameras in Delhi till the COVID-19 situation in Delhi gets better.
A Bench of Justice DN Patel and Jasmeet Singh while dismissing the PIL said the petition is useless and filed without any homework. The court said ambulances are already permitted to go straight without any hindrance at red lights.

New Delhi [India], May 10 (ANI): A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been moved in Delhi High Court seeking direction to the Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police to suspend the issuance of challans by the red-light violation cameras in Delhi till the COVID-19 situation in Delhi gets better. Due to the deterrence of drivers standing in front of ambulances at a traffic light, being scared of the repercussions of either crossing the red light or even moving over the STOP line to get the ambulance to pass over, the ambulances do not get their Right of Way, and have to stand for crucial minutes on every traffic light where such a camera is installed, the plea said.
Ranchi: Four children died in lightning strikes in Ramagrh and Latehar districts on Sunday. Ramgarh SDPO Kishore Kumar Rajak said two children identified as Vikas Bhuiyyan (10) and Kundan Bhuiyyan (8) were killed in Maliagadha area under Mandu police station. Both the kids were collecting mango beneath the tree during the storm when lightning struck.
Police said that they received a report regarding the deaths from the locals and the autopsy of the bodies would be carried out soon.
In another incident at Latehar, Karan Singh (12) and Pankaj Singh (10) died under the Manika police station while four others identified as Ranjan Singh (6), Satyam Singh (5), Anita Kumari (7) and Rupesh Singh (12) were injured when lightning struck while they were playing in the open field. The injured are undergoing treatment at the local government hospital. The incident happened in Sadhwadih village.
