in the capital during a normally dry time of year. meteorologist derrick van damme joins us now to tell us more about that. that s right, george and natalie. as if displaced iraqeries don t have enough to contend with, we have significant amount of rainfall in what typically a dry time of the year. take a look at some of the video coming out of this region. and you can see what they ve had to contend with, pushing their vehicles through some of the flooded streets. not only is the flooding a concern, but it s also a health hazard for the individuals living within this particular area. take a look at the satellite loop across this region. and you can see the thunderstorms that moved through baghdad and the western sections of iran late thursday. in fact, satellite-derived rainfall estimates indicate between 30 and 50, even upwards of 70 millimeters of rain where we would typically only experience about 5 to 8 millimeters of rainfall during the month of october. so this is typically a
