Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Jalukbari constituency, which he had been representing since 2001, will be divided into three parts while BJP leader and assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary's Panery constituency will no longer exist.
BJP s state unit chief Ranjit Dass, AGP President and state minister Atul Bora, UPPL chief Pramod Boro, BJP leader and state minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also attended the meeting.
The Central Election Committee of the BJP, which also includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is expected to meet on Thursday in order to approve the first list of candidates for the polls.
