The absolute and unwavering commitment towards the Northeast of the BJP-led PM Narendra Modi government has resulted in lasting peace in the region ushering economic resurgence, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said today.
Despite a slump in economic activity in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry is projected to reach $20.6 billion in 2021 and $23.3 billion in 2022.
Sonowal also invited the industrialists and NRIs from the South East Asian nations to participate in the global investors summit ‘Advantage Assam’ to be held in Guwahati on February 3-4.

Elated over the initial trends of Assam poll results, which showed that the BJP has an edge over its rivals, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday exuded confidence that the saffron party-led alliance will retain power in the state.
The ruling BJP-led NDA is surging ahead of the Grand Alliance spearheaded by the Congress in Assam, leading in 77 of the 119 seats, trends available on the Election Commission website at 12.15 pm showed. People have blessed us. We can say for sure that the BJP will form government in Assam. We are coming back to power with our partners AGP and UPPL, Mr Sonowal told reporters.
