Indoor reopenings Suffolk May 17 2021

Young Chef of the Year, sponsored by BIdfood – Harvey Thompson of Tuddenham Mill  The outdoor tipi restaurant continues to operate at award-winning Tuddenham Mill, and chef patron Lee Bye is excited to re-open to customers inside, as is young chef winner Harvey, who was over-the-moon to win in our competition last autumn.  “Winning felt great. It was nice to prove myself and get my name out there. I can’t wait to re-open the indoor restaurant now. With most of last year a write-off it’s good to have a level of certainty again. We’ve had some fantastic hand-dived scallops on in the tipi so I’m looking forward to putting them in the dining room and playing around with some different flavours. We’ve also hooked up with some fantastic local suppliers for re-opening, including Mike Malloy who supplies us with the most amazing ex-dairy cow steaks.”

Pubs and restaurants in Tenbury come the the end of a year like no other

HOSPITALITY and entertainment have been in the front line and taken some of the hardest shots in the battle against Covid-19 in Tenbury. For pubs and restaurants there have been a series of closures and even when allowed to reopen restrictions that have made it challenging to make money. In some cases pubs and restaurants in the town have been able to salvage something with providing take away food. During the summer things were eased somewhat for those with outdoor areas. Chris and Sarah Whitehead, who run the Rose and Crown in Burford, have spoken of the challenges resulting from having to operate under social distancing that has limited the number of customers.
