Donated land, institution grants and governmental funding sources were key to the project. A housing trust formed in 2019 found support totaling nearly $400,000. Now the group is looking to raise $500,000 for more homes.

Dogs on the beach
Question 1 asked voters to amend the Animal Control Ordinance to adjust times when dogs will be allowed on Goose Rocks Beach, Colony Beach, and Cleaves Cove, and when they must be on leashes. The amendment, which voters passed 696-489, according to unofficial results released by Town Clerk Jamie Mitchell, is an effort to protect the piping plovers, an endangered species whose habitat is there.
