The research, based on data from 30,000 Indian participants, revealed that those who consume UPFs multiple times a day face a nearly threefold increased risk of experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues. UPFs are mass-produced products such as carbonated beverages, packaged snacks, and pre-packaged meals.
