Some residents of Edo State took over the Benin-Sapele-Warri Road near the bypass, on Thursday, to protest the bad state of the road and its abandonment by both the federal and state governments.
They said it had become difficult to ply the road and lamented that several petitions written to the federal and state governments did not receive positive responses.
One of the residents of the area, who is the Chairman of the Sapele Road Bypass Axis, Daniel Omorogbe, said, “Some of our children can no longer go to school. Our cars are going bad. We are finding it difficult to use this road, which connects us to other South-South states.
