MORGAN HILL, Calif. (KGO) Morgan Hill leaders are figuring out ways to address its rising case rate. I wish I could say this is what s causing the spike, then we could address it. It is disheartening to know that our citizens are suffering, said Rich Constantine, Morgan Hill s Mayor.
As of Wednesday morning, Santa Clara County s dashboard reported that Morgan Hill had nearly 7,500 new cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents within the past seven days.
Morgan Hill s COVID-19 case rate is now only second to Gilroy. It s surpassed San Jose where numbers have been improving.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) Nearly one year after the first person in Santa Clara County was diagnosed with COVID-19, officials say the county hit 100,000 cases this week, marking a milestone that no one wanted to see. It s really hard to see that whole pandemic and the whole situation, said Noushin Zojaji, a San Jose senior who stopped by the county fairgrounds Friday morning to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. I was scared and really anxious, but after I got it, it was really good. No pain, and I hope the result is going to be good.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) Santa Clara County health officials on Wednesday announced residents 75 and older can now sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine in the county. The county also responded to concerns about a vaccine sign up link inadvertently shared with people who were turned away from a vaccination site.
Viewers wrote in and asked ABC7 News whether a link to sign up for COVID-19 vaccinations at Berger Auditorium in San Jose was legitimate.
The California Department of Public Health says it is legit, but it s not for the general public.
On Wednesday, Santa Clara County Public Health officials explained people have been copying the link and forwarding it via text to people both in and outside the county.
