The neighborhood started chattering online, someone said it was a shark attack. Reporter they watched as medics tried to save the life of the man he was attacked. We watched him do cpr for about 15 minutes or longer, probably half a dozen people taking turns with the cpr. I could see, with a nursing background, they had stopped cpr, and they started to discontinue the equipment. And they brought out the body bags. Shark attack. Take a look at video from Sand Dollar Beach south of manresa state beach. The 26yearold surfer now identified as ben kelly was attacked and killed by an unknown species of shark. It happened about 1 30 this afternoon. We have learned two other surfers were in the water at the time of the attack. It happened less than 100 yards offshore. We spoke to a marine biologist would talks about the particular dangers of that area. Its very common to see these juvenile predominantly fish eating sharks in the northern part of the bay. However, the shark that attacked our surfer friend early this morning that happened down at Sand Dollar Beach, attacks down there are very common, but only on seals and sea lions.
