Master Madan was born in December 1927, in Khan Khana, a village in Jalandhar (now Nawanshahar) of Punjab. The village was founded by a reputed courtier of Emperor Akbar, Abdul Rahim Khan-i-khana, who was a prolific writer.
According to the limited writings about the sensational young singing great, he was said to have been poisoned. Multiple stories speculate what led to the young maestro’s untimely death.
