The air quality in Noida and Ghaziabad remained in the ‘poor’ category on Wednesday. The AQI was recorded at 208 in Noida, 241 in Greater Noida and 236 in Ghaziabad as against Tuesday’s 206, 211 and 204. In Noida, Sector 62 station recorded an AQI of 257, and Sector 1 witnessed it at 211 – both in poor category while Sectors 125 and 175 were in the ‘moderate’ category. In Greater Noida, Knowledge Park V and Knowledge Park III stations recorded AQIs of 281 and 221 respectively – both in the poor category. In Ghaziabad, Loni recorded the highest AQI in the district at 276, followed by Sanjay Nagar at 270 and Vasundhara at 220 – all three in the poor category. Indirapuram recorded an AQI of 192 in the moderate category. A SAFAR bulletin said that the air quality is likely to deteriorate and slip to very poor category on Thursday.
