New Delhi, Feb 12 : We are trained to look at the ongoing farmers agitation with a certain gaze that tends to ignore the role of women participating actively and passively. The same holds true for Dalit labourers who do not own tractors and trolleys, and make a huge effort to be at protest sites. This is where the newsletter Karti Dharti comes in, says social activist Sangeet Toor.

Since November 25, hundreds and thousands of farmers have been sitting at the door of India’s capital to mark their protest against the Modi government’s newly passed farm laws. On Republic Day, they have been allowed to enter Delhi on their tractors for a protest rally.

Trolley Times says newsletter made to clarify real news
In the second edition of Trolley Times a four page newsletter in Punjabi started by a group of youngsters published on Tuesday, they stated they are not the official voice of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha.
In a column explaining ‘What is Trolley Times’, they said: “Trolley Times is not the official paper of Kisan Morcha. Our intent, without malice and ulterior motive, is to simply represent peoples’ voices. We are aware that partisan publishing representation can create rifts in the movement. The newsletter is made to clarify the real news amidst fake news.”
