The EHF EURO 2022 qualifiers had it all last-minute wins, heartbreaking losses, history-making successes and brilliant individual performances. Following the conclusion of the qualifiers on Sunday, we take a look at the main talking points from a thrilling phase before we look forward to Thursday s final tournament draw.
Perfect Germany and Sweden; near-perfect Serbia
EHF EURO 2016 winners Germany and EHF EURO 2018 finalists Sweden were the only two teams to reach the end of the qualifiers with a perfect record of six wins.
Serbia came close to perfect, with five wins (including two assessed results against Belgium) and one draw.

17 matches 15 of which will be played on Sunday at the same time will decide the complete field of participants at the Men’s EHF EURO 2022. On Friday night, Faroe Islands versus Czech Republic and Montenegro versus Sweden will open the weekend of decisions, which will also include the final matches of the EHF EURO Cup, on Saturday.

A tight match between Switzerland and Denmark saw the world champions come back in the second half to take a 30:29 victory and decide group 7’s berths at the final tournament.
The result means that Denmark have eight points on their tally, alongside North Macedonia, and that both sides have qualified for the EHF EURO 2022.
