patrolling. to demean that is absurd because we ve been in contact with police chiefs around the country to make sure we are not talking on the other side of a whim. reporter: chief gascon credits crime tracking technology and better community involvement in part to the drop in crime. the man convicted of stabbing a 15-year-old girl and a 60-year-old man in a san francisco bakery is heading toward a sentencing hearing. a judge today accepted scott thomas request to withdraw his insanity plea and set an august 6 date for sentencing. thomas was convicted for the murders. thomas faces life in prison with the possibility of parol. two marin county teenagers are facing charges tonight. nevado police say they arrested john phillip wrestler and a 17- year-old male who s name was not released because he was under age. the break-ins cost about $6,000 in damage. state lawmakers today joined bart officials to announce a new bart citizen oversight committee. sandra swanson auth
