King of Spain opens the Roman Forum museum in Cartagena
Felipe VI visits the museum at the largest city centre archaeological park in Europe
King Felipe VI of Spain visited Cartagena on Thursday to officially open the Roman Forum Museum, the latest addition to the long list of important archaeological sites and monuments related to the Roman city of Carthago Nova.
The opening ceremony began at 11.30 and despite restrictions on the number of people attending dozens of members of the public gathered outside to welcome the monarch. Accompanying him were various dignitaries including the president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, and the Mayoress of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the King dispensed with pandemic protocols to chat briefly with staff at the neighbouring medical centre, greeting them with his hand on his chest rather than handshakes.

Olmo Figueredo’s Seville-based La Claqueta, producer of Spain’s Oscar submission “The Endless Trench,” has boarded “The Turtles,” the second feature from Belén Funes, one of the leading lights of Barcelona’s fast-growing – and often women-led – newest wave of filmmakers.
Funes’ second feature, following on San Sebastian’s 2019 New Director winner “A Thief’s Daughter,” “The Turtles” has been selected for next week’s Berlinale Co-Production Market.

The road to an associate degree wasn t easy for Anabel Rivas. She took a nontraditional path to college. She lived with her father in Mexico until the age of 16. They had a troubled relationship, and she was eventually put out of the house and lived on the streets of Mexico. However, this past December, Rivas graduated from Midland College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management and is now looking forward to entering MC’s nursing program in the fall.
