All right, lisa, thank you. What School Looks Like for bay area students of all ages is coming into sharper focus. Districts are detailing their plans for fall. But the push to bring kids back to classrooms is getting push back from many teachers. The debate over education is so important it is a key focus of our efforts to build a better bay area. Kate larson heard from two of the Largest School districts in the bay area, oakland and San Francisco about what they are planning this fall. Reporter in a presentation San Francisco Unified School District laid out a plan for the fall. While staff has not yet agreed the district is recommending almost all students distance learn when School Starts on august 17th. Small groups of priority students may be able to do inperson school. And once data suggests its safe a gradual return to a hybrid distance and inperson plan would begin. One small area of this community. It is devastating news. Unimaginable devastation in hawaii as we begin to see the magnitude of the damage from Deadly Wildfires that ripped through mauis popular tourist area of lahaina. Most destructive fire appears to be the one burning on the western side, wiping out the town of lahaina. At least six people are dead and emergency officials expect that number to go up. Hawaiis number hawaiis governor did declare a state of emergency and is returning to the islands tonight to address the crisis. People are being told not to fly to maui unless they absolutely have to. The faa is keeping an eye on the smoke because it could alter flight patterns, and we are hearing of some people running to the beach in order to escape the flames. I was the last one off the dock when the fires came through the banyan tree and took everything with it. I just ran south and helped everybody i could along the way.
