Now one thing im watching will be the high fire danger as the strong offshore wind develops during several times this week, the first event starts tonight. There is some fog along the san mateo coast. It is 50 towntown. 37 up in santa rosa. 51 in hayward. No spare the air alert today, but we are looking at moderate air quality over the weekend into monday as a ridge of High Pressure builds in. Thats going to put a cap on the atmosphere and allow for light mixing once again. Right now, where we have good air quality over most of the region, it is moderate up by vacaville as well as fremont today. A lot of sunshine on the way. Santa cruz, moderate air quality and we will be looking at, today, the sun coming up after 7 00. That all changes, remember we have to fall back tonight. So numbers in the upper 70s to near 80 inland. Mid70s around the bay and 60s out the coast. Well talk about a warming trend when we see you in a few minutes. Liz . Lisa, thank you. With winds. Consistently all morning long having been to that 30 mile per hour range while 20 mile per hour wind gusts down into the east bay and even right along the coast in Half Moon Bay. As i mentioned winds do gradually afternoon, this is by 02 30pm right here. Definitely a noticeable difference but this is also going to be our peak temperature hours of the day. So still some high fire danger even with that lighter breeze winds continue to come into the evening tonight and leading into tomorrow for a much calmer rest of the weekend just around the corner. Now 70s and 80s are some of our current temperatures look at alameda right at 80 degrees to start this morning. Were already off to a pretty warm start for a lot of areas in this sets us up for just a downright hot afternoon, 90s and even if you triple digits, inland with solid 90s right along the bay and 80s for coastal areas. So several lanes are blocked in the traffic is creeping along in both directions here so this is one oh one south. After cesar chavez before to 80. Cruz may still have the 3 left lanes blocked there working to get this out of the way but the back of just continues to grow so the southbound james lick is backed up on to almost the whole stretch of the southbound central and its also backing up onto the westbound skyway so as you leave downtown San Francisco on 80 west and start to merge onto one oh one youre going to be stuck in that nasty little backups there the opposite side nothings blocked for now but north one o one its a mess north one is backed up beyond to 80 and now to 3rd street, so if youre only traveling into downtown San Francisco stay away from one oh one use to 80 instead its going to be wide open and it
It triggered evacuations in the area. Earlier flames were racing across trees and dry brush on the steel hipside. Firefighting planes dropped water on the fires. And fire crews responding to a three alarm fire. You could see the smoke there billowing up into the air from our sfo camera. This fire is on star lite street near north canal street. No word on which building is burning here, but we know this is an Industrial Area about a block or so away from the South San Francisco fire station. This fire was reported just before 3 00 this afternoon. As of 3 30 or so, it did look as the crews on the scene were getting a pretty good handle on this fire. Of course some very challenging conditions out there for fire crews across the bay area. Lets check in with Rosemary Orozco on the weather were seeing.
