LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - One of the fallen Concho County deputies, Samuel Leonard, was a lifelong Lamesa man who had just left the Dawson County Sheriffâs Office only three weeks ago.
He leaves behind his wife and daughter, who had not yet moved to meet him in Concho County.
The deputies, Samuel Leonard and Sgt. Stephen Jones, were fatally wounded after they were dispatched to the 100 block of Bryan Street for a dog complaint.
Several fundraisers to help the families have already been planned. Here are different ways to honor the slain officers and their families.

Funeral Services
The Concho County Sheriff’s Office has released information on funeral services for the two deputies on its Facebook.
Visitation for Sgt. Jones will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m. at San Angelo s Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W Beauregard Ave. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 19 at 1 p.m. at PaulAnn Church, 2531 Smith Blvd., in San Angelo.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -The bodies of two Concho county deputies were escorted to by Lubbock police, along with other area law enforcement.
Lubbock County sheriffâs deputies and Lubbock police provided honor guard services for the entire 200 mile trip from Concho County.
âWhen something like this happens, all law enforcement agents will come together and do what they can to help their fellow officers,â Leath McClure with the Lubbock Police said. âWeâre just making sure that they get here safely and as smoothly as possible so we can escort them to where those officers need to be.â
